What is Kwizillo

A children's encyclopedia you play

Kwizillo wraps knowledge about space, animals, Earth, history, science and mysteries into a quiz adventure children open by themselves, not because they have to, but because it is fun.

🌍

8 worlds, 32 topics

From the solar system to knights and castles, from painting to the Olympic Games. Every world has four topics and a mixed quiz.

🖼️

1280 questions, 1280 illustrations

Every question has its own picture that shows the subject, never the answer. 1280 questions per language, each with a hint, an explanation and a fun fact.

🔊

Milo & Luna read aloud

Question, answers, explanation and fact are read out naturally. Preschoolers can play too, and older children practise listening.

🧠

Seven extra games

Languages to learn words in another language, Memo, Maths with sums per level, What am I?, Photo Zoom, Fun facts and the Runner. And the Mega Quiz: 80 questions from every world.

More than a quiz

Besides the quizzes in the eight worlds, Kwizillo has seven games, and the Mega Quiz with 80 questions from every world. They use the same pictures and voices, so your child keeps learning while playing something else.

The Kwizillo home screen with the Mega Quiz, the eight worlds and the games

It all starts on the home screen

At the top is the Mega Quiz with 80 questions from every world. Below it you pick one of the eight worlds, with your level per world. Under Play more are the Runner and the games: Languages, Maths, What am I?, Photo Zoom, Fun facts and Memo. Everything works in all ten languages.

Languages

Languages

Learn words in another language. Milo says a word, you tap the right picture, and then you hear and see "zeehond means seal". Eight themes of ten words: animals, colours, numbers, food and drink, body, transport, sport and talking, plus a mix. Every language can learn every other one, and words come back until they really stick. Works without internet too.

Memo

Memo

Turn over two cards and find the pairs. The pictures come from the world you choose, and Milo or Luna names each picture as you turn it. Higher levels add more cards and give you less time.

Maths

Maths

Ten sums per round, in six levels. You start with adding and taking away up to 10, and grow through the times tables and division to sums up to 1000, halves, quarters and percentages.

What am I?

What am I?

Milo or Luna gives clues, one at a time, and you pick the right picture out of four. Guess it after the first clue for 100 points, after the second for 75 and after the third for 50. Thinking first pays off.

Photo Zoom

Photo Zoom

A photo starts right up close, on a tiny detail. What do you see? Pick from four names. Right away is worth 100 points; every zoom out makes it easier but is worth less.

Fun facts

Fun facts

One of 128 surprising facts at a time on a beautiful card, 16 per world, read aloud by Milo or Luna. New facts come first, and you can see how many you have discovered.

Runner

Runner

Run through the jungle, the city or the sky, as a boy or a girl. Swipe or use the buttons to dodge and jump, and grab coins and power ups such as the coin magnet. A run lasts 40 seconds and the coins go to the shop.

Points and rewards

Every right answer counts

Children see exactly what they have achieved. Everything they earn is kept in their collection.

⭐

800 points to earn

Every quiz you pass is worth 25 points, a whole world 100. Across all eight worlds there are 800 points to earn.

🃏

A card for every right answer

Every question you answer correctly becomes a knowledge card with a picture and a fun fact. With 1280 questions there is plenty to collect.

🏆

Golden cards

Every world has a shiny golden card. You buy it in the shop with coins from the Runner and the other games.

🎉

Buddies and awards

Right answers unlock 13 buddies, and Mike can be bought with coins in the shop. There are 10 awards, from your first quiz to 7 days in a row and your first Languages lesson.

The welcome back screen: Hi Noor, ready to carry on?

Several children, each with their own game

Brothers and sisters can all play on one device. Kwizillo greets every child by name and shows where they left off, with their level, coins and day streak, and Someone else is playing switches player.

Why it teaches

Every answer is a moment to learn

Kwizillo is built on what works: short, visual, explained, repeated, and rewarded in a way children want to earn themselves.

Explanation instead of just right or wrong

  • After every question your child hears the right answer and why it is right.
  • A fun fact makes it stick ("A year on Mercury lasts 88 days").
  • Wrong is never a punishment: "So close!" and a second go at the same topic.
  • Again reads the question once more; Back revisits an earlier question.
Explanation after a question

Six levels that grow with your child

  • Level 1: 30 seconds per question and six mistakes allowed. Level 6: 10 seconds and no mistakes.
  • Higher levels bring harder questions first; a topic is passed only within the mistake rule.
  • All 32 topics passed? The next level opens automatically.
  • Maths grows too: from adding and subtracting to 10 up to times tables, division, fractions and percentages.
Maths with sums

Memory, language and listening

  • Memo trains memory with pictures from the worlds: 8 to 14 pairs.
  • Everything is read aloud in ten languages: ideal for early readers and for a second language.
  • With Languages your child learns words in another language, by listening and with pictures. Words that are hard come back more often.
  • The collection of knowledge cards shows what your child already knows, per world and topic.

Ten languages

Play in your own language

Kwizillo comes in ten languages, with both the text and the voices. Milo and Luna read every question, every answer and every fun fact aloud in the language you choose. Great for children who speak another language at home, or who want to pick up a second language while they play.

Languages

Learn another language too

With Languages your child learns words in another language. Milo says a word, your child taps the right picture, then hears and sees “zeehond means seal”. Eight themes, from animals and colours to food and transport. Every language in the app can learn every other one, and words come back until they really stick.

The Animals theme is free, every theme is in Premium. Languages works without internet too.

Who it is for

From preschool to the last year of primary

Ages 4 to 6

Not reading yet? No problem: Milo or Luna reads everything. Level 1 with plenty of time, counting dots for sums, Memo with pictures.

Ages 7 to 9

Reading and listening, collecting facts and cards, the first times tables in Maths, and a slightly tighter timer.

Ages 10 to 12

Higher levels with less time and no mistakes, sums in two steps, percentages and fractions, and the mixed quiz per world.

Also for teachers and after school clubs: school year and level can be set per child, and the game needs no account.

Parent zone with a parental gate

School year, level, language, sound and the timer sit behind a sum for parents. So does sharing scores.

🎧

The name stays home

Your child's name is only shown on the device and never sent to any service. The voice uses a generic greeting.

💬

Ideas and feedback

In the Parent zone your child can send us an idea, a comment or a compliment, together with you. We read everything and say thank you. That is how we make Kwizillo better, together.

You take out the subscription in the app, with your App Store or Google Play account. A parent does this behind a parental gate, so your child never sees a price. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do any time in your account settings. The free trial week applies to the yearly plan and turns into a paid subscription if you do not cancel in time.

Frequently asked questions

Can several children play on one device?

Yes. Every child plays with their own name and their own progress, points and collection. When it opens, Kwizillo asks who is playing, so brothers and sisters never take over each other's progress.

What age is Kwizillo for?

Roughly 4 to 12. Young children play with the voice and level 1; older children pick a higher level with less time and harder questions.

Which languages?

Ten languages, from English, Dutch and German to Arabic: the whole app and every question. Switch any time; progress is kept.

Do I need internet?

All pictures, questions and games are inside the app. Only the quiz voice comes from the internet; without a connection the app keeps playing, silently. Languages works fully offline: words and voices are inside the app.

What happens on a wrong answer?

Your child hears the right answer, the explanation and the fact. Too many mistakes in a topic? Play that topic once more. Never a punishment, always a second chance.

When is the app out?

Kwizillo is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play, for iPhone, iPad and Android. Email us and we will let you know as soon as you can download it.
